The Jurisdiction B Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractor (DME MAC) Provider Outreach and Education Department will be conducting Medicare billing workshops in April 2010. These interactive workshops are designed for all suppliers of durable medical equipment prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) interested in learning how to prevent and resolve American National Standards Institute (ANSI) denials to in order increase cash flow and reduce operating costs. Participants will also receive comprehensive instruction related to specific billing issues and requirements, including the following:Correct use of span datesReplacement and repair requirements (modifiers RA and RB)Situations requiring use of Item 19 (NTE Segment)Maintenance and servicing updatesModifier requirements and related claims processing changesEligibility issuesSame and similar equipmentMedicare hot topicsThe workshops will be conducted in each of the seven locations within the Jurisdiction B DME MAC geographical area on the dates indicated to the right.Workshops will begin at 9:00 a.m. local time and will conclude at 4:30 p.m. Continental breakfast and sign in will be available at 8:00 a.m.Registration is required and must take place prior to the date of the workshop. Registration for these workshops will be available online only. The cost for the workshop is $80 and includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and materials.An online payment option is available and may be utilized at the time of registration.
